I’ve obviously been out of the loop and missed what looked to have been a huge face off between YouTube user Arlene Grimm and the VideoCompiler, creator of the Ventrilo Harassment videos. I don’t know the entire story, but I’ll share what I do know. Finding information online has been a real pain, but I’ll share what I’ve found and give my two cents on the situation. I’ve cited all sources where possible. If I’ve gotten any of these facts wrong, please leave a comment or IM me and let me know so that I can change any erroneous information.

First of all, if you watch the Duke Nukem For)ever harassment video, you’ll hear him harass an irate mother senseless. The popular rumor is that this woman is actually Arlene Grimm (MMORPG.COM Blog Post). As an act of retaliation for her humiliation (and inability to take a joke), Arlene decided to fight back by getting the VideoCompiler banned from YouTube and succeeded. Following the ban, Arlene posted a video to her YouTube account insulting fans of the VideoCompiler.

After the deletion of the VideoCompiler’s account, someone posing as the VideoCompiler created a new YouTube account “VideoCompilerReturns” and somehow made off with 140 bucks worth of donations. The common belief is that Arlene Grimm was the person who did this, but I couldn’t find any proof to confirm that this is really true(World of Warcraft Forums).

While researching what had actually happened, I found that the VideoCompiler and Arlene Grimm’s YouTube accounts had both been suspended or deleted.  In order to view Arlene Grimm’s YouTube account, I searched Google’s cache to find an achieved version of the page.

Arlene Grimm’s profile, to say the least, is bizarre.  Her profile describes herself  as a “preacher to the perverted.”  I found that her profile gave the most accurate description of herself:

“Neither the black nore his ultimate offspring: the Mulatto can ever acquire the right to live; they have no rights, social political, or religious; this is shown by God’s destruction of the antediluvians, and his command to Israel to destroy the Canaanites without regard to age or sex, and “leave nothing alive that breatheth,” and take their possessions. The immediate offspring of man and the negro is merely the result of man’s violation of Divine law, and, as such, is not a part of God’s creation. Hence, its ultimate offspring could never become so; it was corrupted flesh to begin with, and can never become pure by reverting to either man or the negro. Neither can there be any peace between God and man as long as these monstrosities are allowed to defile the earth with their presence.”

Her videos featured many clips of Hitler, as well as other videos such as “Swastika Fun”.  A more complete screen shot of Arlene’s YouTube page is available in my picture gallery.

I don’t agree with Arlene’s beliefs, but I do believe she has the right to say whatever she wants as long as she isn’t issuing real threats.  The same belief applies to the VideoCompiler as well.  Although I believe in free speech, I don’t consider hate speech to be the most intelligent kind of speech.  We live in America, and I think everyone should have a fair chance to be heard and to be successful, regardless of nationality, skin color, or, in this case, IQ.  If you don’t like someone, don’t go around them.

I wish the VideoCompiler would get some dedicated hosting and host his website and videos from that.  I’d be willing to some of my bandwidth and storage for that, and I’m sure there’s a million other people online who would do the same (although I do think that 100 bucks of donated money would more than cover domain registration and hosting costs…)

I hope that this article might clear a few things up for VideoCompiler fans who are wondering where his YouTube page from.  Like I said earlier, if I’ve messed up my facts, please leave a comment, IM, or e-mail me so I can fix whatever the problem is.  Please cite the page where you found the information if possible.
