The Word of Chaos

When I find someone who’s new to IRC, I tend to feel sorry for them. I remember what it was like when you first start and don’t know what you’ve gotten yourself into. Sometimes, I like to have a little bit of non-volatile fun with them as well. After all, nothing screams “Mess with my head!” more than an IRC user who comes into the channel and announces that they are new to IRC.

This fellow learned how to change his nick from within the channel.

(22:05:54) n00b: my real name is jared…so my alias is n00b
(22:06:08) n00b is now known as captainobvious
(22:06:10) captainobvious: why?
(22:06:26) captainobvious: nice

I’ll bet that guy never forgot how to change his nick.
