I’m currently writing this post from my iPod Touch that I purchased last night using the WordPress blogging application. It’s not too bad really. My biggest complaint is that the application doesn’t (or can’t) flip to landscape view for the extended keyboard. This would be incredibly useful for those of us fortunate to have large hands. I believe the application is open-source, so perhaps a patch may be in order.
Besides the WordPress application, I’ve also installed an SSH client. Nothing quite beats the feeling of doing server-admin duties without having to get up from your chair! A word of caution is in order. Don’t bother with the “SSH” application. Pay the extra dollar and buy the iSSH application. It comes with several features such as landscape mode, zooming, and better keyboard support (F# keys, special keys, etc) that will make using the application much more pleasant.
I’ll be trying out the Mocha VNC package and others soon. Expect a full write up on my favorite iPhone and iPod Touch applications soon.
